Nursery RoomWe would like to welcome you and your child to our nursery room, we want to ensure your child is happy and enjoys their time in their new environment.
When your child first begins their visits to the nursery room, they will be allocated a key worker, this is to help settle your child into their new room, however as your child begins to bond with the practitioners in the room their key worker may change, and you will be notified of this. |
The nursery room offers a wide range of toys and equipment to help develop the children in all areas whilst having fun!
Activities are available throughout the day, these range from painting, sticking, sand and water play and many more! A variety of planned and child led activities are available throughout the day and are based on all children’s individual needs and interests.
We continue with our nursery curriculum and milestone 2, to support your child to become confident with practitioners and peers and start to communicate whilst playing alongside their friends.
The nursery room continues with our nursery Cliff Classic stories, songs and rhymes. We encourage children to begin joining in with actions, singing songs and sharing stories. Practitioners role model language to ensure the nursery is a language rich environment to support your child’s early language skills.

During the day, we access the outdoors regularly there are planned activities offered, these range from riding bikes, painting, mark-making and sand play. All these activities enhance strength, balance and co-ordination which support your child’s physical development, which is one of the prime areas.
Please could you provide your child with warm clothes in winter e.g. Hat, scarf, gloves and wellington boots if raining and sun hats and sun cream in the warmer weather.
Nursery room is where we begin to encourage your child to potty train. We focus a lot of our activities around preparing them for this stage of development, there is no rush, every child potty trains at different age/stages, if you would like more information, we have leaflets for you to take or simply ask any of the practitioners in the room for advice.
We complete a 2-year-old check which assess’ your child’s individual needs and highlights any additional support needed, this will be shared with yourself and your child’s Health Visitor.
We look forward to meeting you.
