Toddler RoomWe would like to welcome you and your child to our Toddler room. We plan and carry out stimulating activities to help promote your child's learning in a safe and happy environment.
We have a wide variety of toys and equipment which encourages your child to learn and develop their skills through play. Our room is a large open space for children to explore different areas from small world, construction, ball pool, play kitchen and the creative area. Throughout the day we can get a little messy as we love sensory play, from hand and finger painting, water / sand play, baking and playdough. We use our nursery curriculum (milestone 1) along side the EYFS to support your child’s development and give hands on experiences for them to enjoy and achieve. The children love our 10 Cliff Classic stories and rhymes which we love to dance around and sing along. |

We enjoy physical activities; the room is set out to give your child space to manoeuvre and develop their gross motor skills. The ball pool is a favourite where the children love to climb, roll and occasionally just lay.
We have a small veranda where the children can play as well as the big play area with lots of space for the children to run around, ride on bikes and apparatus to climb.
Throughout the day the children have free flow to the outside area whatever the weather. Children will need suitable clothing for all weather conditions.
The prime areas are a focus within the toddler room and practitioners support your child to develop these.

- Communication and language- lots of interaction whilst involved in play, using our cliff classic songs, rhymes and stories, modelling language and ensuring the environment is language rich.
- Physical development- lots of opportunities for your child’s gross motor skills; climbing, crawling, running and dancing. Fine motor skills drawing, playdough, painting and many more.
- Personal, social and emotional development- supporting your child to form relationships, playing alongside others and building relationships with practitioners and peers.
We create a social time for the children whilst having snacks and mealtimes sitting together, supported by practitioners.

During the day the children are able to sleep when needed. Most of the children sleep after lunch. The children have individual mats and pillows and are comforted by practitioners until they fall asleep. The children can sleep for as long as they need, unless requested otherwise by parents.
A drink of fresh water is always available to each child throughout the day. We ask parents to provide a none spill feeding cup/water bottle that your child would recognise.
Every day is a learning day and doing so we have lots of fun
